Why an Electronic Cigarette? 
An electronic cigarette (e-cig) is a personal vaporizing device designed for those over the age of 18 who want to continue enjoying the sensations of smoking but wish to avoid the harmful effects of actually smoking tobacco.

IT IS NOT INTENDED TO BE AN AID FOR QUITTING SMOKING OR A NICOTINE REPLACEMENT THERAPY (NRT).  An e-cigarette mimics and satisfies the oral sensation of smoking.  Not smoking real cigarettes as a result of using an electronic cigarette is simply a healthy bonus.  

The e-cigarette produces a ‘smoke-like vapor’.  The e-cigarette simulates‘smoke’ in the mouth, and produces a short-lived vapor which has the visible appearance of ‘smoke’ on exhaling.  You also get the ‘hand-to-mouth’ feeling of holding a cigarette, thus the e-cigarette satisfies the main things a smoker wants and needs.

How does it work? 
Using a battery-powered atomizer, an electronic cigarette vaporizes a flavored liquid (e-liquid), which simulates the throat hit and smoke-like vapor of conventional cigarettes.  The electronic cigarette does this without burning tobacco, thus avoiding the dangerous carcinogens and chemicals. 

Inhaling on the electronic cigarette causes a built-in sensor to power up the atomizer via the built-in microprocessor. The liquid in the cartridge is heated and vaporized, thus producing a vapor.   When exhaled, this vapor simulates ‘smoke’ but the vapor dissipates in seconds.  

Note: This is vapor NOT smoke. No burning takes place, therefore, no smoke. 

What is in the cartridge or e-liquid? 
The e-liquid in a cartridge is a mixture of tobacco flavorings, food flavorings and a combination of pharmaceutical-grade propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerin (VG), and it can have, but does not have to have, a specified level of nicotine added.

What powers the device? 
Rechargeable lithium ion batteries power electronic cigarettes. These batteries do a great job, but they wear out faster than with other devices due to the higher requirement demands of the e-cigarette and the smaller sizes of the batteries used. 

How long will they last?

Real estimate of battery life:  Four to six weeks.  Some will last longer, but bank on an average of four weeks each.  (Please note that these are DISPOSABLE items) 

Real estimate of cartridge life: Average 200-250 inhalations per 1ml of e-liquid. Cartridge sizes vary between models.

TIPS:

Battery Charging 
We recommend purchasing and using two chargers with four batteries in rotation. This ensures never having to wait for one to finish charging.

USB chargers are much slower.  They can take five to six hours to recharge a battery, whereas the AC charger takes approximately three to four hours.

Safety Cut-Off 
Long inhalations of five to seven seconds will cause the safety mechanisms on some e-cigarettes to cut off the power flow to stop the atomizer from overheating. When this happens, the battery led will flash. Note: This is a safety warning, not an indication that the battery is flat. 

If you inhale less for than five seconds and the led flashes, this is an indication that the battery may be going flat.  It could be time to recharge. 

Storing e-Liquids 
Always keep e-liquid stored in a cool, dark place to prolong its life. Most e- liquids have a shelf life ‘use-by’ date of approximately two years.

When first using an e-liquid product, be aware that a very small minority may have a minor allergic reaction to PG, or VG, but usually not to both.
